Ráiteas i gcomhair Lá Idirnáisiúnta na nOibrithe 1ú Mí Bealtaine/ Statement for International Workers Day 1st May

A chairde, Lá Idirnáisiúnta na nOibrithe shona daoibh, agus ba mhaith liom a rá thar ceann ar Macradh go raibh míle maith agaibh as an deis chun a bheith anseo libh ag ceiliúradh ár laochra réabhlóideacha.

Comrades, happy international workers day, and I’d like to take this oppurtunity on behalf of Macradh ISR Youth to thank you all for the chance to take part in this event celebrating our revolutionary heros who have gone before.

Bunaíodh ár ngrúpa i Mí Aibreán 2019. Is grúpa poblachtach sóisialaí muid agus tugann muid ár ndílseacht ar son Poblacht na hÉireann a bhfógraíodh i 1916, agus an Chéad Dáil i 1919 nuair a d’fhógair neamhspleáchas na tíre. Cuireadh an Phoblacht sin faoi chos ag frith-réabhlóidí ach tá sé fós beo, agus tugann muid ár ndílseacht dó.

Our group was formed in April 2019, we are a socialist republican group and we owe our allegiance to the Irish Republic that was proclaimed in 1916, voted for by the majority of the Irish people in the 1918 General Election, established in 1919, and subsequently forced underground by Freestate counter revolutionary forces co-operating with the British elite.

Is coilíneacht í Éire agus leathchoilíneacht í ag an am chéanna. Is coilíneacht iad na sé chontae agus is leathchoilíneacht iad na fiche sé chontae.

We believe that Ireland is both a colony and a semi colony. The occupied six counties i.e the north eastern part of our island is a colony under British occupation, and we do not refer to it with the name that imperialism applies to it (“Northern Ireland”). We refer to it as the occupied six counties. The rest of our country, the remaining 26 counties we refer to as The Freestate, and is a semi-colony and is subservient to British, American, and EU imperialism. To quote the irish socialist republican Liam Mellows when he was referring to the newly created 26 county state in 1922 he said “The Freestate is British created  and serves British imperialist interests. It is the buffer erected between British Capitalism and the Irish Republic”, and while I’m quoting him I may as well go ahead and throw in another one of his quotes because this man could seriously write, again reffering to the Free State he said “ It is a fallacy to believe that a Republic of any kind can be won out of the shackled Free State, You can’t make a silk purse out of a sows ear”.

Diúltaíonn muid an córas toghchánaíochta go hiomlán. Ar nós an tsaorstát, bhí sé cruthaithe ag an aicme cheannais agus ní féidir aon difríocht a dhéanamh tríd toghcháin nó ag suí i bParlaimint. Má bhreathnaíonn tú ar stair gach am a chuaigh rialtas ar an eite chlé isteach sa Pharlaimint, d’athraigh siad a meon nó scriosadh iad.

We reject the parliamentary system utterly. Like the freestate, it was created by the ruling classes and firmly serves their interests. You only have to look at history to be proven correct in this analysis. Every time a party ón the left has gone into government they either collaborated with the ruling classes or they were destroyed. A few examples that spring to mind are, the Labour party in Britain, the Social Democratic Party in Weimar Germany, or The Irish Labour Party, a party created by James Connolly and Big Jim Larkin the trade uníon organizer from Liverpool has gone from being a force to be reckoned with in its earlier years to a party of opportunistic snivelling quizzlings.

Creideann muid i Marxachas Leinínachas Maochas mar an triú agus an céim is airde mar eolaíocht réabhlóideacha, agus táimid ag obair go dian chun é a chur i gcleachtadh chun athrú mór a dhéanamh ar son na lucht oibre in Éirinn.

We believe in Marxism Leninism Maoism as a third and higher stage of revolutionary science and we are working hard to put it into practice in order to effect real change ón the ground for the irish working class.

Creideann muid i dteanga na Gaeilge mar theanga dúchais na hÉireann agus táimid ag déanamh ranganna chun an teanga a chur chun cinn agus a athbheo mar ghnáth theanga na tíre seo.

If you haven’t already guessed we believe ferverently in the irish language as the native language of our country which was suppressed and beaten out of our ancestors by the hands of the invader. We are holding regular irish language classes to promote the language and to revive it as the ordinary spoken language of the people.

Finally we are anti-racist, proletarian feminists, and always ALWAYS anti-fascsist. The ruling classes have long utilized racism and bigotry to stir up hatred and to divide the working class, united we rise, divided we fall. Wherever fascism and racism pokes its dirty héad above the surface Macradh will be there to crush it.  I want to thank again the revolutionary communist group for inviting Macradh along with this event, we are honoured to be here, we hope to do some real work with you in the future when this is all over, big thanks to Suzi for kindly inviting us along, and I’d like to finish in true internationalist fashion, with a Chinese parable which appears Mao’s Little Red Book

There is an ancient Chinese fable called “The Foolish Old Man Who Removed the Mountains”. It tells of an old man who lived in northern China long, long ago and was known as the Foolish Old Man of North Mountain. His house faced south and beyond his doorway stood the two great peaks, Taihang and Wangwu, obstructing the way. He called his sons, and hoe in hand they began to dig up these mountains with great determination. Another graybeard, known as the Wise Old Man, saw them and said derisively, “How silly of you to do this! It is quite impossible for you few to dig up those two huge mountains.” The Foolish Old Man replied, “When I die, my sons will carry on; when they die, there will be my grandsons, and then their sons and grandsons, and so on to infinity. High as they are, the mountains cannot grow any higher and with every bit we dig, they will be that much lower. Why can’t we clear them away?” Today, two big mountains lie like a dead weight on the Chinese people. One is imperialism, the other is feudalism. The Chinese Communist Party has long made up its mind to dig them up. We must persevere and work unceasingly, and we, too, will touch God’s heart. Our God is none other than the masses of the Chinese people. If they stand up and dig together with us, why can’t these two mountains be cleared away

Go raibh míle maith agaibh

Thank you for listening comrades
