Anti Imperialist Action Ireland and Macradh- ISR Youth attended today’s solidarity vigil in Dublin to mark the 27th day of Patxi Ruiz’s Hungerstrike.
The numbers for this event have grown week on week as Socialists, Republicans and Anarchists work together to raise the plight of the Basque Political Prisoners.
As a result the event has attracted significant harassment from the Free State’s Political Police clearly concerned at the growing number of young people attending these events, taking the names and addresses of all in attendance under Section 30 of the Free State’s ‘Offenses Against the State Act’ and filming participants throughout.
Today the crowd had grown to the full length of O’Connell Bridge, with demonstrators on both sides of the Central Isle in a very visible demonstration in support of Patxi Ruiz and Freedom and Socialism in the Basque Country
