Easter Statement of the Revolutionary Socialist Republican Movement 2025

The Leadership of the Revolutionary Irish Socialist Republican Movement extends revolutionary greetings to our members and supporters at home and abroad. On the 109th Anniversary of the 1916 Rising we note the continued growth of our mass organisation, Anti Imperialist Action Ireland across the country and particularly the numbers of young people who continue to join and take up their role in the fight for Irish Freedom.

The Revolutionary Irish Socialist Republican Movement extends greetings to all Irish Republican organisations and Independents that like us remain committed to the fight for Irish National Liberation and we send our greetings to the Irish Republican Prisoners of War in Portlaoise, Maghaberry and Hydebank. We again condemn Britain’s ongoing use of Internment and Extradition as a weapon against Irish Republicans, and call on all revolutionary and progressive forces to take a stand against them.

We send our International greetings to the Revolutionary forces from Palestine to the Philippines and all who remain committed to the use of armed struggle to defeat imperialism and we call for the release of Amhed Sa’adat, Georges Abdallah and Daniela Klette.

109 years ago, the Irish Citizen Army, the Irish Republican Brotherhood, the Irish Volunteers, Cumann na mBan and Na Fianna Éireann came together as the Army of the Irish Republic (IRA), Proclaimed a Sovereign Independent Republic and rose in arms against the British presence in Ireland. In every generation since Irishmen and Irish women have fought and died for the Republic of 1916 and Irish Freedom.

For this generation of Irish Republicans the fight for freedom continues and alongside the fight against British Imperialism to be successful in our National Liberation Struggle must also fight against NATO and European Imperialism in Ireland. NATO is centrally involved in the ongoing British Occupation and Partition of Ireland and the US Military Occupation of Shannon. The quisling Free State establishment is attempting to bring the 26 counties closer and closer to NATO and to participate in an EU army against the wishes of the overwhelming majority of the Irish People. Revolutionary Republicans must be prepared to give leadership on this issue.

We commend the recent protest organised by AIA at the Belgian embassy as part of an international day of resistance against NATO around the world. We salute the Anti NATO 8, who have put themselves at the forefront of the campaign against NATO in Ireland and in particular the comrade who had his leg deliberately broken by the Free State Police. We call on all Republicans and anti imperialists to support these activists as they are dragged before the free state courts.

The struggle for National Liberation remains the most pressing struggle for the Irish working class and the joint fight to drive Britain and NATO out of Ireland is the current priority in that struggle. Resistance against Britain and NATO must be built through Revolutionary Direct Action across Ireland and through the development of a campaign that can unite all Republicans, Anti Imperialists and progressive forces in the fight against Britain and NATO and ultimately the establishment of an Anti Imperialist Broad Front that will progressively prosecute the Revolution in Ireland. This remains the focus of our work and we urge all genuine Republicans to play their part.

As we remember the patriot dead from every generation on the 109th anniversary of the 1916 Rising we extend our solidarity to all genuine Republicans who do likewise at commemorations across Ireland this weekend, and we commit ourselves to redoubling our efforts in the revolutionary fight for Irish National Liberation and the Irish Socialist Republic.
