While the Free State facilitates Fascist and Far Right agitators causing hate and division across the County, Republicans and Anti Fascists come in for harassment on a very regular basis.
The picture shows a Republican Activist being harassed by Gardaí following an Anti Fascist protest in Dundalk. During the protest, members of AIA and other Republicans were kept under surveillance by the Special Branch, who made pathetic attempts to intimidate our activists in vain.
AIA were not the only Republicans harassed yesterday, and we extend our Solidarity to the Saoradh members who were followed by the Branch after the protest and held on the ground at the side of the road as the branch ripped apart the car they were traveling in, the same branchmen that had earlier attempted to harass members of AIA.
The presence of Fascist and Far Right agitators on our streets necessitates a United Republican Response to make Fascists afraid again.
The State fears such a United Republican Response and that is why Republicans engaging in Anti Fascist Activism are being heavily targeted by the political police.
No amount of state harassment will stop AIA confronting the presence of Fascist and Far Right agitators in our Community.
Anti Imperialist Action Ireland calls for all Revolutionary Republicans to come together to form a United Republican Front to defeat Fascism. Since the 1930s it has always been the Republican Movement who have kept fascists off our streets, and today that task falls to Republicans once again.
Let all Irish Republicans stand united to beat the Fascists!
