On Saturday July 4, up to 100 people attended a stop the extradition of Liam Campbell protest in Dublin.
The event jointly organised by Anti Imperialist Action Ireland and Macradh ISR Youth was attended by members of the Campbell family, Independent Republicans, Anarchists and a number of other Republican organisations including Saoradh, Republican Sinn Féin and the Republican Network for Uniy.
The event was addressed by a number of speakers including Diarmuid Breatnach of the Anti Internment Group of Ireland, Independent Republican Cáit Trainor and Pat Campbell on behalf of the Campbell family. In a demonstration of Republican unity on the issue extradition, the event was chaired by a member of Anti Imperialist Action Ireland and the crowd was also addressed by a Representative of each Republican organisation in attendance and the issue of other Republican extraditions were also raised including the cases IRPWA prisoners Ciaran Maguire and Seán Farrell.
Those in attendance sent a clear message to the Free State and the Lithuanian Government that the extradition of Liam Campbell to a country he has never been to is wrong, it is an abuse of his human rights and would be a complete miscarriage of Justice.
Liam Campbell will next appear in court on Monday July 13 and the Campbell family is asking supporters to assemble at the courts on Parkgate Street in Dublin at 9am.
Anti Imperialist Action Ireland would like to thank all who attended this event especially the Campbell family and we are committed to continuing to to campaign to stop the extradition of Liam Campbell and all Irish Republicans
