POW/ BRITS OUT PICKET IN CROSSMAGLEN

Sixty four years to the day since the initiation of Operation Harvest or the “Border Campaign” on the 12th December 1956 Anti Imperialist Action and Socialist Republicans held a whiteline picket in solidarity with Irish Republican prisoners in the border town of Crossmaglen, Co. Armagh.

The picket was organised to highlight the fact that there still remains political prisoners as a direct result of the British occupation of Ireland.

Passers by and the general public showed great support for the picket and made it know that Republican prisoners have not been forgotten this month traditionally known as prisoner month.

The picket also highlighted the current cases of extradition facing a number of Republican activists.
