MI5, the ‘internal’ arm of the British secret service, control policing across all 32 Counties of Ireland, running both the RUC and the Gardaí.
While MI5’s control of the RUC is obvious, it’s control over the Gardaí is less accepted. However, the facts speak for themselves. The head of the Free State police is Drew Harris, an MI5 agent openly involved in the cover up of British collusion with their Loyalist death squads in the occupied six counties.
His position as leader of the Free State police has been shored up by the appointment of other senior RUC officers to high ranking positions, in a deliberate act to further strengthen MI5’s, and therefore British Policing across Ireland.
This has been recently demonstrated by appointment of RUC officer Jonathan Roberts as the assistant commissioner of the Free State police.
The Free State is a semi-Colony of Imperialism, and is deeply subservient to British Imperialism along with North American and European Imperialism.
Britain continues to have significant strategic interest in Ireland and uses its illegal military occupation of the 6 Irish Counties to ensure its Imperialist Influence across all 32.
The fact that MI5 control the Free State Police is clear evidence of the Semi Colonial Nature of the 26 County state.
The RUC are a colonial British Militia, directly under the control of MI5, whose role is to uphold the British Occupation of the 6 counties. The Gardaí are a Semi Colonial Pro British Militia, directly under the control of MI5, whose role is to uphold partition and the Free States Semi Colonial Administration.
That is why both militias continue to concentrate significant forces and resources into targeting Republicans and other progressives who are opposed to Imperialism in Ireland.
All Anti Imperialists must be clear about who controls policing in Ireland, and the answer is Britain. Since their foundation during the counter revolution in 1922 the Free State police have been serving the interests of British Imperialism in Ireland, and do so openly today under the leadership of a gang of MI5 agents.
100 years on the counter revolution is continuing. It remains the duty of all Revolutionary Republicans to fight it, and work for the rebuilding of the All Ireland People’s Republic proclaimed in 1916.
